I got a Car2Go card a few weeks back. Car2Go is a network of rentable cars (SMART) in many cities. All you need to rent a car is a card and a 4-digit PIN. One of the reasons I don't really need a car anymore...
I never noticed those Car2Go Smart's before - but since I got the card, I see them everywhere...

By now even the most unattentive reader must have figured that the number "42" means a lot to me.
Its silly, there are many other great numbers out there... I know.
All through my life and especially since I work on this project, the number 42 seems to be everywhere...

My favourite number is 4. I don't know exactly why anymore. Just one of those things when you are a kid. I believe it started by being my number in my class and for some reason just stick with it.

DeleteMy favorite number is 20. When I was young my father would play a game with me called 21. Basically you start at 1 and count up by either 1 or 2 numbers. Whoever has to say the number 21 would lose. So if you say 20 you will win the game.

DeleteI don't have a favorite number per se, but I do have a number of numbers that keep cropping up around me. 7, 8 are two of them - they seem to be everywhere I look! If I am reading a book I'll notice that when I put it down it's on a page ending with a 7 or 8, sort of scary! The other odd thing with me, is that when ever I look at the time on a digital clock, it's always double numbers, for example: 17:17 or 19:19 etc

Hmm...it would be 13 for me. I started it when I was a kid. I think I just wanted to be counterculture and show that the fear of the number 13 was just a superstition.

DeleteMy favourite number has always been 3. 3 is great and you can find it everywhere. Some say: 3 is always one to much, but this isn't true :-). 3 is the beginning of a family. 3 is the smallest group that is possible. I loved the 3 ??? when I was younger and I was born on 30.03.

ReplyDeleteWhen most of the more supersticious people always cried about Friday 13th, i had the best days on friday 13th. And it is part of my Birthday being the reason why i had precious good days on friday 13th :-D
friday the 13th is always jsut the same as any other day for me. Except when my cat got run over. Or when my house burned down. Or that one time I went on vacation and my passport was declined and I was stranded 2300miles from home. But besides those things its great!

ReplyDeletemy favorite number is zero because I think it is the most interesting conceptually. It represents both negative and positive values, and alternatively neither at the same time. Numbers cannot be divided by zero because any number multiplied by zero cannot return that value. Any number to the power of 0 is 1, and 0 to any power is 0 (except 0 to the power of 0 which is undefined).
In computer science 0 becomes even more interesting conceptually as it begins representing states, starting points, etc.
My special number is 1862, because it is the ground size of my final place to be for the next, uhm, 40 years at least...Well, time will show!
