REVOLUTIONARY WINNERS #15-22

#15 - A limited 'an unexpected journey' box from Games Workshop

Some of the winners I drew randomly using random.org caused me to feel a little guilty.

Why? Because some of them are my close personal friends and I did not want anyone to feel like there is some sort of favoritism and bending of the rules is going on...

Then I realized that I probably met about 42% of the 440+ followers in person and consider many of them among as my friends... So please let me reassure you, that all prizes were drawn applying intricate techniques that do not leave a bitter aftertaste in your frontal lobe's neurons. ^^

So, having said that, I am happy to tell you that my good friend Skyle is now the proud owner of a limited 'An Unexpected Journey' Box from Games Workshop. Hey, pick it up, Andre, so I can save P&P :D

#Unlabled Free Giveaway - "Post your Blog"

I would like to share these blogs with you - check em out! I recommend Google Reader or something along those lines to follow as many blogs as you can find comfortably and at the click of ONE button!

#16-17: 2x OOP Games Workshop
SPACE HULK!!!

Ooooh, another big giveaway. Biiiig Bam-Badabum! These boxes are REALLY valuable and sought after...

So without further ado, Malthus is one happy camper today :) This was his winning entry ('What's your favorite number'):

The Japanese would have a word or two for you as "four" is "SHI" - the same sound as the word for death ;) Its the ultimate unlucky number, but I think you just have proven the theory faulty.

The second way of winning was by sending in a picture with the number 42 on it somewhere.

And this is the winning entry:

This was titled "Hidden" - and I like to think children already know The Answer. :D

Markus, I don't know what your handle here on Blogspot is, but send me an email to claim your awesome box full of WIN! SPACE HULK!

#18-22 - Pete Stark's Rock CD - pending -

Well, this giveaway causes some problems. The CDs I ordered from Aussie webstore CDBABY have never arrived. I am investigating what's going on here, probably (like about 20% of all packages sent to me), the delivery service was too lazy to actually find my apartment. It happened again today with a delivery via DHL...

I will draw the winners as soon as I know what's going on...

In the meantime I would like to recommend that you check out Aussie Rocker Pete Stark's Youtube-Page and like him on his FB Page (only if you like good rock, of course :D).

This is the video that brought me in contact with him - it is one of my favorite songs from when I was a widdle boy - it pushed me into Sci-Fi without even understanding the lyrics (at first)

So please stay tuned - I hope not all is lost :(

Congratulations to all winners - and to all the not-quite-winners-yet guys and gals out there: We are barely half way through with our giveaways!

All prizes need to be claimed by April 1st, fools! Read how to contact me in the first winner announcement post (and have a chance to win again... geeez).

The next winners will be announced Monday at the same time ;) 2:42 pm CET.

Introducing: The Weekend Workshops

What a relief! *phew*

I can finally get this secret of my chest as both John Harrison (Darkmessiah) from Platoon Britannica and Rafael García Marín (Volomir) told me a secret of truly international scale.

Me!
A secret...
Oh, the agony! :D

John "Darkmessiah" Harrison
Platoon Britannica, CMON, FB
No, seriously, John told me about his new and upcoming Workshop site a few days ago and I checked out their site when it was still a new-born baby which could hardly speak HTML 5 fluently or controll its css.

And a few days later, Volomir told me about 'going to Liverpool' for a weekend to 'visit' a workshop.

Even the Galactic President could connect those dots ;)

So I am happy to announce The Weekend Workshop, a stylish new site about workshops that take place, errr... on weekends, I presume... :D If you want to see all of the guys from T-DoubleDoubleU (haha, my creation), check out their brand new Facebook Page! While you are there you might press the 'Like' Button.

"Volomir" Rafa Garcia Marin
Spanish Team
Now who might be holding the next workshop? You guessed it right as your attention span is clearly OVER 42 seconds if you still follow this blog...

None other but VOLOMIR himself. He is not only one of my favorite painters, but also one of the nicest guys you can find in the miniature community. He is not only much more skilled than me, but also much better looking. I really, really hate... er... like him :D (Volomir's Blog, CMON)

So how much better is he than me? Well... He won ten times as many demons in four times as many countries as me. I have won one measly demon. You do the math. :D

A Charity True Scale Marine
Someone overbid me at the
last second. How naughty!
Here is a short exerpt from the detailed announcements on The Weekend Workshop' site:

"Rafa will be teaching the secrets of contrast and colour theory over the course of 2 days, he will take you step by step through the ideas and theory of contrast and colour, he will demonstrate those ideas using the free miniature you will receive and you will then get to take those new skills and apply them to your own miniature under Rafa’s Guidance. It is with no exaggeration that I say that the skills and knowledge you will acquire aren’t being taught any where else in the UK and are limited to very few people within the sci fi and fantasy miniature painting community."

The Weekend Workshop

The workshop will take place on MARCH 23rd/24th at "Scythe and Teacup" (61A Kempton Street, Liverpool L3 8HE). Seats are limited and cost is only 85 quid. Not squid, kids: Quid. Thats like Bri'ish slang for like Her Magesty's favorite currency "da Pound".

AND NOW I AM FRIGGING EXCITED! Look at the map! ISLINGTON! That's where Arthur Dent's house was! I mean, right before the planet was destroyed by Vogons to make room for a hyperspace bypass! OMG. Now I regret even more that I cannot go... *sob uncontrollably* I hope that this is just 'a' Islington, not THE Islington...

Where is my towel.... *sniff*

Have a few pints and a few bags of peanuts for me - at lunchtime! Muscle relaxant, baby!

Zaphod

P.S.: If you can't go to this awesome workshop, you know how you feel. Imagine how EMUSE feels if he can't go to Chicago to participate in the Crystal Brush 2013!

REVOLUTIONARY GIVEAWAY WINNERS 7-14

And we start with something spectacular. REALLY spectacular. So spectecular that - as announced in the Giveaway rules - I actually give the winner the chance to allow us to keep it! #7...

And since we turn the world upside down (and want to force you to read through to the end of this blog, we START at the END today... giveaways 12 through 7 ;) ooooh, we so evil).

#10 - 14 - A pimpin' title

You might say "I won at Masterminis.net and all I got was a pimpin' title'. But does a pimpin' title not cut deeper than a blade? :D

Let me explain what is up with this. In our upcoming and very secret, hoopy future website, users can earn and collect titles. Only very special people will get equally special titles. 'Pimpin' titles. We are already working on the site and expect it to go live within the next 42 weeks (now that's a safe estimate, and a very hoopy one). The site is not up yet, but fret not - as soon as titles are activated, you will be the first to know!

So some of you opted to have a chance to choose their own, personal title. And will probably flash it in front of everyone else for all eternity now...

Sooo. 5 titles... Hard to choose... Hm... They were all pretty good...

- my hoopy Australien friend Shane (who already has the title "REVOLUTIONARY #7" gets his title "Crippled Bristle". He is an amazingly together, hoopy frood who REALLY seems to know where his towel is. You might also want to check and like his new FB page. He is the first double-pimper.

- "Dawn of Revolution" Simply had to chose this one. Dawn aka Tatjana Jaeger... Here's your title ;)

- Jonas Bauwens, who honestly told me stuff he did NOT like about my crazy giveaways gets his "Proclaimer of 27". We all know he is very mistaken as the Answer to Life, the Universe and EVERYTHING is 42. But we welcome believers of all minority numbers in our midst, no matter how wrong they might be :D

- Michael Heun will receive his coveted "Slave of Paint". I know some of Michael's personal background and I think this title is rather fitting ;) He is a real enthusiast.

And last but not least..... Oooh, this is difficult.

- OK. I love computer games. Lately, I have been known to play WarZ and HAWKEN for a maximum of like 6, maybe 7 minutes A WEEK... And sackratte helps us keep the Zombie Population down. So he shall henceforth be known as the "Survivor of the Apocalypse".

Now since it may be unfair that I put my personal connection to people into this last one, I will hand out two extra titles ;)

- Plebicidal will be known as Plebicidal. This will look funky when the title function is finally implemented. And funky is almost as good as pimpin'. He was the only one that chose the same title as his online name. I respect that kind of commitment.

- And I think everyone would have a beer or two with a guy who calls himself "Mr Mongo". dogfacedboyuk2, your wish is my command.

#9 The MEME Galactic Freedom Special Super Mystery Prize (or something along those lines)

This one really made me LOL. Big time:

True story, bro! Or sis. The mail was just from someone called 'Karin'. So let me know who you are!

Your prize? An authentic piece of the Berlin Wall from our new 'home' - the city of Berlin!
Chosen from MILLIONS of different pieces, this is the BEST one. Great color contrast - yellow-orange-red next to a dark green!

The trouble I had to go through to bring The Wall down just to get to this piece... Years of scheming and dabbling in politics... Well, you know the story. ;)

#8 - Don't press this button giveaway

Well, first of all let me show you this: This giveaway has turned into the most stylish of all of the giveaways. I think it speaks for itself:

42 comments. The winner should feel extraordinarily hoopy.

42 comments :) Little things like this make my day. Srsly.

So I had to find something TRULY HOOPY for the winner... Using random.org.

And then this happened: oO

21 is only half the truth.

And then then this happened: oO WTF Oo

The 21st poster was quix42. *single tear of joy*

So this is the special price I litterally handpicked just for you - presman style! Now that I know they exist, I need to CATCH THEM ALL for myself! :D

Congratulations, quix42, this Mint-Mini-Zaphod will be in the mail, soon! You will also receive several million points out of 10 for style.

Even Quentin Tarentino could not have scripted a more fitting build-up for #7...

#7 - ULTRA-RARE Black-Library limited edition Collector's Sword

The sword. Valuable. Precious. Really shiny.

As a reminder, here are the rules for the winner: You get a question, an answer and a choice!

1) You have to ask me a question. Any question. I will try to answer it as truthfully and detailed as possible (So, please no: "what's your favorite color?") I dabble in Quantum Physics, Astronomy and Philosophy, so give it your best shot :D

Slayer Sword causes paper cut. Unknown Source.
2) You have the choice to waive the right to the sword.

WHAAAAT? Who in a sane mind would NOT want "ze soooort"? :D The idea to this giveaway came to me, when I saw the first 'Slayer Sword' from Games Day Japan in 2012. Origami Style.

So what would one win, if one rejected the sword...
  • Over the next years, we plan to build up a collection for a miniature museum here in Berlin. Yes, you read this correctly. A MINIATURE MUSEUM.
  • The sword would be on permant display and the owner could come and visit and hold it as often as he or she likes.
  • Next to the sword we would display a picture of the winner, some of his or her favorite miniatures and a short bio with anything you like on it: Blog-address, website-address, comission charges, pictures from your latest beach-holiday, you know from the one night where you had one too many of them Magaritas...
Basically you have to choose between eternal fame plus a bag of karma vs. shiny thangs :D

Of course we would not think less of anyone if he/she wanted the swooooord :D We all love swords ;) And I would want it too :P

The lucky guy, who came in a cut above the rest in this giveaway is: Martin Grondei

I am very happy for you *single tear* :D

Congratulations to all winners - and to all the not-quite-winners-yet guys and gals out there: We are only 25% through with our giveaways!

The next winners will be announced tomorrow at the same time ;) 2:42 pm CET.

Support EMUSE to go to the Crystal Brush in Chicago!

This is important guys!

FINALLY a kickstarter/indiegogo campaign that I feel is what those crowdraising platforms SHOULD be all about.

More at EMUSE's site!
This time its not about a big company draining the market dry with multi-million fundraisers that may or may not be delivered a year later, but it is about someone with a vision, with a cause and with skill and passion.

I am talking about EMUSE - an amazingly talented and insanely productive painter from Madrid, Spain. (Check out his blog)

EMUSE wants to participate in the Crystal Brush in Chicago. Some of my yet undisclosed friends and myself will be there, too. As you may have read in my report from the Hussar 2012, Nakatan will be there, too! It is going to be AWESOME.

And since I really would love to meet EMUSE and see his work live and in color ^^, I supported his campaign by buying the 150$ pledge - and it will get me to visit Madrid later this year for a workshop! Find out what you will receive for the different pledge levels - I think it is awesome value for a good cause.

Here is his indiegogo campaign with all the details.

I need a crystal brush, too, I think... My hair is growing out of control... Why did I make the committment to NOT cut may hair until we ship the first DVD set...

and... Please SHARE (and enjoy ^^)

Its like a presidential decree, you know...

And don't forget that we will be REPORTING LIVE from the Adepticon / Crystal Brush 2013  from my old 'stomping ground' - the western burbs of Chick-a-goo!

RISPEC!

Zaphod

Update: Enrique just contacted me. Please note that the comment "ONLY SPAIN" on pledge C means 'Only in Spanish' as Enrique explained to me that his English is not good enough to give classes. I will still keep my pledge and not withdraw it (as he had offered me), because I really want to support him on his mission. So if you understand Spanish, C is still the way to go for you! Maybe I could go with you then :D

42 REVOLUTIONARY Giveaways: Winners 1 - 7

Greetings Beings!

Edit: Apparently I am a bit rusty when it comes to blogging ... I forgot to change the planned date/time on my post and needed my mom to tell me that the winners had not been announced yet... Thanks, Mom :D

And since this post is late, YOU CAN WIN SOMETHING (oh no, not again!)

Just congratulate the winners so far, share your frustration of not winning or just thank my Mom for being an observant follower of the REVOLUTION and personal councel of the Galactic President (she is kinda the Mother of ALL REVOLUTIONS... well, maybe not, but for sure of MY revolution ;))

Among all the comments to this post, I will draw one lucky winner who will receive a LIMITED EDITION DARK ANGELS CODEX. Sold out, desired, valuable... That's right - the madness continues!

Finally it is here! The first seven winners of our REVOLUTIONARY Giveaways!

First of all I would like thank all the participants of the crazy giveaways - in total there were OVER 2000 comments to the respective posts. 42 giveaways for 2000 'tickets '- I call these odds of winning truly REVOLUTIONARY!

How the winners were determined:

All winners were drawn using RANDOM.org. I generated a number, looked at the post and - if it was a 'valid' post, the winner was drawn. If it was invalid (e.g., an invalid answer was given to a specific question), I just rinsed and repeated ;)

YAY! I won! What now?

Please send me an email at masterminis <<at>> gmail <<dot>> com with your username. I will send you a reply which I then ask you to post under your username into the comment section of THIS post. Last year we actually had one guy trying to 'snatch' the price by posing as an imposter :D

Giveaway winnings will be reserved for 42 days (let's say until April 1st, fools day. I PITY THE FOOL WHO DOES NOT CLAIM HIS PRICE).

Boooo, no Giveaway for me... *sadfollower.jpg*

Well, rub your rabbit's foot until it throws sparks - because Giveaway winners #7-41 are not out yet ;) Next winners tomorrow at 2:42 pm CET ;)

Without further ado, here they are, the first of the lucky ones:

#1 and #2 - 2x limited Chaos Space Marine Codex (of only 1000 worldwide!)

Not surprisingly, noone guessed the "GIVEAWHAT" correctly, so I give away two of the rare and - on ebay - rather expensive Codices!

And the winners are:

- Winner #1: Bulkoth!
- Winner #2: cpyke

#3 and #4 - TEAM giveaway: 2x Dark Vengeance Limited Edition

This was one of the giveaways with the best chances to win! Not too many entries for this great set of limited edition gaming boxes!

And the Winners are:

- draugadan and disel24

#5 - Forgeworld Primarch ANGRON!

Wow - and another Angron! Awesome model which will give you loads of joy while painting.

Smiling painters? Noone smiles better than a painter called... loler!

#6 - OOP Black Reach box

GW starter boxes always offer a great bang for your buck... SkelettetS knows, the only place to get better deals is masterminis.net! FREE STUFF!

Now he has to choose: German or English ;) Sorry, no Swedish, you sweet Swede.

#The Unlabled giveaway

I actually did not give this giveaway a number oO... Let's call it 6B as it is another OOP Black Reach starter box. It was part of the post for the SWOOOORD ;) But to keep things exciting, the winner of the sword will be announced tomorrow ;)

So the winner of the second Black Reach Box is: Avicenna!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!

So, these are the winners so far. The next winners will be announced tomorrow 2:42 pm CET. I verified that the date and time is set correctly... ;)

I guess with my hair growing out of control, something in the general head area had to give... Or I am just getting old(er) ;)

The Blog was dead, long live the Blog!

Deutsche Übersetzung im Anschluss
Greetings, beings!

Long time no 'see'! I am glad we are 'back' online!

A lot of terrific and great things have happened since the beginning of the year - and one really terrible one. Let's start with the ONE bad thing.

Geeez, what happened?

Time to upgrade to C128 or Amiga...
As you know, our Internet Server went down around January 5th. And masterminis.net was not accessible from outside - unless you used the native Google Blogspot address. On top of that, I went on a short vacation a week later.
And the server outage lasted until Sunday night last week.

Luckily, we were able to retrieve all data from the server - which is the main reason it took so long. Just 'resetting' the server would have taken a few days, but then all my precious data on it would have been lost - including any emails (orders) we had received. Clearly, that was a no-go.

So I am happy to say we are back up and I would like to thank all of you who sent messages to our facebook and google+ pages inquiring about what was going on ;)

What about the 'good stuff' that happened?

If something like this is what you expect,
you may safely expect more now ;)
Oh, were do I start...

The REVOLUTION is running full steam ahead. And it is getting bigger and better.

What does that mean? Our Season 1.1 - DVD Set is getting bigger and better by the minute.

If you are among the many who have already ordered their copy (or even two!) let me tell you this: You will get MORE than you expect. Not only will it be more, but the content will even be cooler - or 'hoopier' as I like to call it.

Other than that, we are currently working very hard to meet our self-imposed Deadline of the first week of March for our first shipments. It will be tight, but we will not be far off - if at all.

The current status is:
"Derwish and Yanet" ;)

  • all of the miniatures are already produced - and they look great!
  • Filming is 99% finished - with some final material being shot by Thursday this week.
  • Editing and SpecialFX (:D) of the material is well on its way
  • Production of the DVDs and packaging is lined up and will likely start next week.
  • A lot of extra stuff (call it 'stretch goals' if you like) is lined up for y'all!

Particularly my mom is looking forward to the release of Season 1.1 - as I still have a bet running to NOT cut my hear (or beard for that matter) until we ship the first product. I look like a hobo :D

What about the Giveaways?

All winners have been drawn! There are going to be a lot of happy people out there!

To keep it exciting, we will reveal the first 7 winners later tonight :) Ahhh, the tension, the excitement, the anticipation! I just wanted to keep this resurrection post as short as possible ;)

Anything else?

Yes. We learned. From our server outage. We had originally planned to start implementing our own Website starting May 1st - but with the problems we had we have already layed the foundation of doing so very soon - all software is bought, the server hosting has been found and best of all - it will be even cooler than we originally had anticipated.

Sometimes good things come out of bad situations - and this clearly seems to be one!

The days ahead

As of today, you can expect regular posts on the blog again! Stay tuned for more information on Giveaway winners and Season 1 DVD sets! And of course all kinds of other news from the miniature scene!
As a little teaser (oh no, not again!) for further content comming up: We plan to visit and report from these events:

- Tactica Hamburg (Feb)
- Painting Crusade Brussles (Feb)
- Herzog von Bayern (Duke of Bavary)
- CRYSTAL BRUSH!!!
- ... and more ;)

So stay tuned, stay hoopy and HAPPY PAINTING!

Kind regards,

Michael Bartels

Greetings, beings!

Wow, was war los?

Time to upgrade to C128 or Amiga...

OK. Was sind denn die guten Dinge?

If something like this is what you expect,
you may safely expect more now ;)
Oh, wo soll ich anfangen...

Unsere REVOLUTION geht volle Kraft voraus. Und wird größer und besser!

Was heißt das?

"Derwish and Yanet" ;)

Sonst noch was?
Ja.

- Tactica Hamburg (Feb)
- Painting Crusade Brussles (Feb)
- Herzog von Bayern
- CRYSTAL BRUSH!!!
- ... und mehr ;)

Also: Dranbleiben, hoopy bleiben und HAPPY PAINTING!

Kind regards,

Michael Bartels
aka Zaphod Beeblebrox
